Pioneer whites are restless, medium-sized butterflies celebrated for their dramatic mass migrations across dry landscapes in Africa and South Asia. Adults feature striking white wings with heavy dark brown veins on the underside, flitting incessantly between flowers to feed on nectar. Females lay clusters of eggs on caper family plants, where larvae feed voraciously before pupating on host stems or nearby rocks.
