Meal moths rest with their distinctive abdomens tilted upward at a sharp angle, displaying beautifully contrasting forewings of rich chocolate brown, creamy ochre, and fine white wavy lines. Caterpillars construct durable silken tubes within damp grains, meal, or decomposing hay, feeding inside these tunnels away from light. While notorious as pantry and grain elevator pests across the globe, adults are harmless night-fliers that readily come to artificial lights.
