Glory Bush

Glory bushes form sprawling evergreen shrubs famous for velvety foliage and brilliant violet-purple blossoms that open throughout warm months. Young stems are distinctly four-sided and clad in soft reddish bristles, supporting deeply veined leaves with prominent longitudinal ribs. The blossoms rely on buzz pollination, releasing heavy pollen loads only when large bees grasp the anthers and vibrate their flight muscles at high frequencies.
